Artist-in-Residency Guide + Form

Artist-in-Residency Guide:

  • Each residency cycle lasts for one month. Residencies begin on the first Monday of the month and conclude on the last Saturday. The "closing" exhibition will be held on the last Thursday of the month, showcasing the works created by the artists in residence on the gallery's main level, with complimentary wine for our guests. The exhibition will be open for three days, from Thursday evening through Saturday evening, and invitations will be extended to the gallery community and collectors. *Final exhibition dates may change due to holidays or gallery buyout events.

  • The gallery team and mentors will provide a specific theme or subject for the creation of an artwork. Each artist in residence is expected to create at least one piece based on this theme. The artwork will be featured and available for sale during the closing exhibition. Artists will retain 100% of the proceeds from sales during both the residency and the final exhibit.

  • Artists are required to commit to a minimum of 3 days per week at the gallery during their residency, dedicating at least 4 hours of creative work each day. The gallery is open 7 days a week:  Monday through Friday, 11:00 am to 7:00 pm  Saturday and Sunday, 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm

  • Each residency cycle will include 6 to 10 artists and at least 2 mentors.

  • he Time To Be Happy gallery kindly asks that each artist in residence consider donating one artwork on day one of their residency. This art piece will be included in the gallery's collection. Participation in the residency is not contingent on this donation.  *The gallery may also offer the artwork for sale
